Summer is here which can mean sun-dried hair and melting makeup. We all know what it's like to put in a ton of time and effort into your look only to walk outside and feel your makeup start melting away and your hair going flat. We ask the million dollar question….what can we do to stop the madness? A Suite Salon is sharing some simple tips and tricks to stand up to the heat, let’s start with makeup:
#1: Make sure you apply moisturizer before applying foundation ~ this step is going to keep your skin looking great and your foundation, powder or liquid, stay in place.
#2: When applying eyeliner put a small amount of powdered eyeshadow over the eyeliner to lock it in place.
#3: We recommend using any type of primer which will help your makeup stay in place, finish with setting powder to keep you looking great all day.
Let’s talk hair. How do you make dry, crunchy, sun faded summer hair a thing of the past? Some suite tips below:
#1: Satin, Satin, Satin ~ sleep on a satin pillow case as the slippery fabric keeps hair from breaking.
#2: Give your hair a break! It is summer, put the blow dryer and flat iron away and embrace your natural hair. Casual braids, buns and ponytails are stylish styles that are quick and easy. Now is also a great time to incorporate some fun accessories into your look.
#3: Keep your hair hydrated!! Keeping your hair hydrated will protect against frizz and split ends, giving your hair natural shine.
Thinking you are going to need to purchase a bunch of expensive product which scream hydration all over the bottle? Think again!! Below, are a few natural products you can use at home to keep your hair looking like you just left the salon…….
Coconut Oil ~ Massage a handful of coconut oil into your hair starting at the roots and let it stay in overnight. Rinse with warm water and dry, you'll notice a difference right away! Coconut oil will deeply condition your hair, making it soft and shiny and eliminate frizz.
Olive Oil ~ Olive Oil will make your hair shiny and frizz free! It also strengthens the hair and helps to protect against breakage.
Egg whites and Honey ~ Grab a cocktail and get ready to get messy with this suite tip. Separate two to three eggs (pending hair length) using only the egg whites. Add in two table spoons of natural honey. Mix well. Massage the mixture into your hair starting at the scalp. Let sit for 20 to 30 minutes and wash your hair like normal. You'll notice your hair is instantly softer and more radiant than before. Hair loves the proteins in the egg whites.
